Since the birth of Industrias Químicas del Vallés (IQV) in 1935, the history of MAT Holding has been closely linked to agriculture. In 1980 the group extended its activity to the water sector with the creation of the Regaber company and in 2003 with Hidroglobal.

In recent years MAT Holding has continued to grow in the agricultural sector and has strengthened its position in the water sector with acquisitions of Israeli Dorot in 2014, the Spanish STF Filters and VICAN in 2017, the American OCV Control Valves in 2018 and the Israeli ARI Flow Solutions in 2020. In 2021 the A.R.I., Dorot and OCV businesses merged to form the group’s new brand, Aquestia.
